What about Allergens

We will endeavor to meet dietary requirements as advised at booking, should we not be able to then we shall let you know.
Due to the nature of our produce each table normally has a good range of Vegan, Vegetarian and Gluten Free food to nibble on.
However due to the nature of the environment we cannot 100% advise that our products are free from the following allergens: celery, cereals containing gluten (such as barley and oats), crustaceans (such as prawns, crabs and lobsters), eggs, fish, lupin, milk, molluscs (such as mussels and oysters), mustard, peanuts, sesame, soybeans, Sulphur dioxide and sulphites (if they are at a concentration of more than ten parts per million) and tree nuts (such as almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts, Brazil nuts, cashews, pecans, pistachios and macadamia nuts

How do I book

All dates are provisional until receipt of a 10% nonrefundable deposit and a completed booking form to secure your date, once received we shall then send out confirmation via email. Payment can be made via secure online payment or BACS.

Payment Terms

As above 10% deposit to hold your chosen event date, we will send out an invoice for the balance which is due 2 weeks prior to the event, again via a secure link or BACS.
Should the required payment not be received at the correct time and after we have tried to secure payment via email an additional 2 times, we reserve the right to cancel the booking immediately with no refund of deposit.

What about Covid?

As a team we are all doing our best to keep our clients safe so we are testing routinely twice weekly, we will always test the day before any event to ensure we are doing all we can. If we must cancel due to a positive test result, we will inform you immediately. Any monies paid will then be returned including deposit via BACS in approx. 10 working days.
Should clients cancel their booking 7days or less prior to the event date then there will be a charge of 50% of the total booking to cover supplies already purchased.

Table Styling

We also have a range of rustic platters, bowls, cake stands and vintage crockery that can be hired to enhance the table, please just ask us for a quote.
Alongside this we can also arrange for natural eucalyptus and floristry and have access to a lovely range of suppliers who can bring that little bit extra to the event, please just ask for a quote or introduction.

What are your Grazing Tables

These are designed to literally lay flat on your chosen surface, we use greaseproof paper underneath to minimize staining etc from the food. However, we do not provide a tablecloth, so you may wish to supply yourself.
Allergy`s – should you have dietary requirements to accommodate we can either lay these separately for the desired number of guests or we can mix on the main table but provide labels to indicate those choices.
If you have chosen a sweet element to your graze this will be laid to one end.
We do not provide plates, napkins or serving implements so you may wish to have these to hand.

What happens on the event day

For smaller simpler events our setup time is between 1-2 hours, so we will arrange a time round this to ensure we are done approx. 20-30 mins prior to guests arriving. Larger events or those with extra styling and more complex set ups its approx. 2-3 hours and again we will arrange the details much nearer the time. Should you choose any of our recommended suppliers, we can work directly with them to ensure we are all completed on time.
We can arrange for us to return at the end of the event to clear down but please note this will incur extra costs.

What is a graze box

Due to rising costs and after reassessing our first few months of trading, we are unfortunately now only able to offer boxes for 2 people upwards, this is to ensure we continue to deliver not only the service but product we pride ourselves on.
Our boxes are designed as a light meal so perfect for a work lunch, picnic, or nibble. However, should you be looking for something more substantial than we advise that you book an extra person or two.
Alternatively, we are always happy to discuss extras we can supply.
Our packaging is fully recyclable including the clear window.

What about food safety and Hygene in transport

During transport the food is kept cool with the use of suitable cooling equipment, and we regularly review this.
To ensure that the food is safe for all to enjoy the chosen surface must be in a cool shaded area and not in direct sunlight or next to any heating sources. To comply with Health and Safety rules the food cannot be kept for more than 4 hours uncooled/ambient room temperature and after this time must be disposed of.

Black Cat catering hold a 5 Star Food Hygiene Rating via the FSA, we are more than happy to share our certificate with you and have full public liability insurance to 5 million pounds.

    We only use locally sourced produce inclduing artisan cheese, locally reared meats. SO much so we have won awards for supporting local businesses.

    We try where possible to use only recyclable, eco friendly packaging and by using local produce we are also doing our little bit for the environment.
